Any transition means enduring a period of uncertainty. Passion gets you through it. Transformation puts you up against strong forces of momentum. The only effective counterweight is either disaster or a passion to survive and succeed.

What does this mean for managing directors of technology companies?

A company should be able to successfully adapt to new or changing environments, technologies &/or any advancements in evolution, by identifying their most passionate people and letting them set the course.

Then the company leaders should act as cheerleaders - protecting, encouraging and empowering the course setters with every resource they need to successfully navigate the company direction into optimal position to efficiently and effectively capitalize on future opportunities, in hopes of monopolizing their realm.
