HOW DO I GET LISTED WITH SEARCH ENGINES?
| Getting listed with
search engines is actually much less intimidating than it sounds. Some of the major search
engines are: You can list with these and others for free
by listing manually.
"Listed" is when you submit your URL and information to a search engine so
they can find your web site in key word searches. When you are listed, if someone keys
words into a search engine, the chances of finding you are much greater. Not only are the
chances greater, but you are generally placed higher on the list of matches. This means
someone might see your site "fifth down on the first page of matches", for
example, rather than "eleventh on the last page."
To get listed, follow these general guidelines:

| 2. |
Find the button or text saying "add URL" or
"add web site" or "become listed". They may all say something
different, but they all will indicate listing, or adding a web site/URL. |

|

| 3. |
Once you have entered the "Add URL"
area, you will be prompted to enter various information. It may be as simple as inserting

information. |

| 4. |

submitted your information it may take anywhere between three hours - 6 weeks for your URL
and information to be added. See Search Engine Response
Times. |
| 5. |
Excite was used as an example; however, even
though all "Add URL" areas are set up differently, you may use this information
